At O’Reilly Media, I served as a community-driven marketing strategist building connections between engineers, tech leaders, and the brand’s publishing and events ecosystem.
I produced hundreds of pieces of technical content designed to take complex concepts (IoT, AI, cloud, security) and make them accessible for everyday professionals.
As an eLearning company, O’Reilly’s audience is made up of engineers, CTOs, and technical professionals — meaning everything had to be clear, sharp, and data-driven. I supported event marketing, content strategy, and strategic messaging for their global tech conferences.
I focused on simplifying complex topics (AI, security, cloud architecture) into digestible narratives that guided ticket sales and sponsorships. I also owned paid channel metrics tied to conference registrations and directly generated $300K in revenue through events.
This experience sharpened my ability to write with authority for technical audiences and measure content’s impact in real dollar terms.
My work included spearheading the #IoTChat Twitter Live event — a project that reached 4.2M people organically, delivered 89M total impacts, and trended without paid spend (worth an estimated $200K in equivalent value). I also managed 55+ tech meetups and delivered $300K+ in community-driven revenue, while driving 11,000+ unique site views through targeted social and Meetup outreach.
Impact:
• Generated $300K+ in revenue by building and running 55+ community meetups with sponsored partners.
• Produced the #IoTChat live series with 400+ participants and a 4.2M reach valued at more than $200K.
